Audrey is 7 Months Old!

Not quite sure how that's possible, but it seems to be the truth!  Audrey spent her 7 month birthday being sick, but we still managed to have some fun.  We went downtown to eat at New Moon Cafe and then visited the newly opened cupcake store!  Yum!  I had a red velvet sample and a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake and Paul had the salty caramel (super yummy) and a red velvet.  Yesterday also marked college football's return so we all dressed in Carolina blue and cheered on our Tarheels against JMU.  We won (by a lot), but this was a much different experience for me.  Usually, I don't miss a play, but Audrey has other plans ;)  Before I knew it, I looked at the game and said, "How the hell is there only 1 minute left?  Where have I been?"  Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes!

Back to Audrey and her 7 monthness.  Here are some unofficial stats...

Height:  24 1/2 inches
Weight:  15 lbs 4 oz
Diapers:  Size 3
Clothes:  quickly outgrowing 6 month clothes.  Will be in 9 month for the fall.

I am happy to announce that we finally have an eater!  Yay!  So far, Miss Audrey has eaten butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, apples, peaches, peas, green beans (first food that she has NOT liked), and some baby yogurt.  We'll be moving onto stage 2 very soon.

Milestones:  Audrey loves to sit and play with toys.  She can pass them from hand to hand easily.  Of course, everything ends up in her mouth.  She is really into the laptop (she's eyeing it right now) and has so far managed` to turn the screen 180 degrees.  Hmm.   She can scoot backwards when on her stomach, but hasn't mastered crawling.  When she wants to "crawl" to something, she lifts her arms, legs and head and does a swimming motion.  It's super cute.  Recently, she started doing a bye-bye motion with her hands.  It happens pretty randomly and that is also way cute.
She is still quite the talker.  She babbles a lot.  Saying mamamama, bababababa.  She loves when anyone talks back to her!  She also LOVES to 'pet" our animals.  By pet, I mean grabbing a big chunk of fur and ultimately pulling it out.  Missy surprisingly loves it.  If you know Missy, this should shock you.  Go figure.  Brutus finds her increasingly annoying and Stoney is in constant competition with her for our attention.  Audrey finds Stoney HILARIOUS.  He doesn't do a thing and she's laughing.  I guess he must look pretty funny.  These poor animals have no idea what's coming once this girl becomes more mobile!

Daily Routine:  She still goes to daycare 4 days a week.  While there, her schedule from the weekend goes to poop.  Ha.  She does well and is happy and loved, so it's alright.  She takes bottles of BM.  I'll send solids soon.  On the weekends (which for me is Fri, Sat, Sun), she takes 2-3 naps of about an hour each!  Much better than the 30 min ones she's always done.  I often still let her nap in her swing.  I know I shouldn't, but I'll deal with that later :)  She sleeps in her crib from anywhere from 7 to 7:45 pm to 6 or 7 am.  I typically wake her during the work week around 6:15.  She doesn't nurse in the middle of the night, but occassionally wakes up and can't find her pacifier.  She's good about letting us know haha.

This month will bring lots of fun.  We are going to NC to visit our families and go to a UNC football game!  We are also going on a family vacation, just the 3 of us, for a long weekend.  Can't wait to make more memories with our sweet girl!

I just want to say...

That Audrey is doing a lot of babbling recently.  One of her favorite babbles (is that a word?!) is Mamamamamama.  Sometimes it's hi mamamamama.  I have to say that I love it!  Maybe all that practice with her has paid off!!  Paul should be jealous!
