Don't go there, and you won' t have to come back...

So I have been pretty lazy on the blog the last few days.  But I have been busy around the house and I had to spend time with Audrey.  I am back to work tomorrow, gonna be burning!  Once I get settles back into a little more normal schedule with work, we will get back to the blogging a little more.  Will not be too much longer before Audrey gets more interactive and we will definitely have some good stuff then.

Thought for the night..... "When you have to think twice about something, you might be wasting time..."

2 weeks old!

Yesterday, Audrey turned 2 weeks old!  We celebrated by going to her 2 week pediatrician appointment.  She weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz, far surpassing her birth weight of 6 lbs 6 oz.  She has gained 1 lb since her last pedi appointment 9 days ago!  She is breastfeeding well still and doing better at night.  We can't complain and just hope it stays!  She also has grown an inch and is 19 1/2 inches long.  She looks pretty much the same to us but she is getting a little bigger tummy!

Going to the doctor for my 2 week check up!

Tummy time is tooooo exhausting!

When you can't find me here, maybe I'm there....

Been a few days since our last blog.  We have been super duper busy.  Audrey and Sara are still doing fine.  Audrey is gaining weight and plumping up.  We go to the Dr tomorrow so we will know how much she has actually gained.
This week has been very productive for me around the house.  I got the pergola finished, and built a fence around the garden, because Stoney thinks he is a better gardener than me and he eats all my cucumbers and okra.  Here are some pictures of the two projects completed.

Audrey has been a little more interactive.  Sometimes in the middle of the night instead of during the day, haha.  Enjoy these!

Well, there is not much going on around the house besides this.

Valentine's Day

Audrey celebrated her first holiday yesterday, Valentine's Day.  She celebrated by wearing pink and being cute.  Paul and I had a nice dinner at home.  Paul cooked my favorite dish which we call shrimp & orzo gorgonzola.  I have not eaten it since being pregnant because I had an aversion to all seafood!  I'm so glad I can enjoy it now!  I also had probably less than half a glass of white wine... it was pretty good!  I look forward to some fruity drinks especially this summer.  Otherwise, things are going well.  I've been sooooo happy to have Paul home from work.  It's been great.  He goes back to work on Sunday so that will be an adjustment for all of us.  Besides caring for our sweet girl, Paul has been busy doing all the things outdoors for the house that he has not had the time for.  Since the weather has been perfect, it's been a great time to do these things.  He finished the pergola and is putting up a fence around the vegetable garden.  We have been taking Audrey on plenty of walks around the neighborhood as well, taking advantage of these 60 and 70 degree sunny days!

Here is a video from February 12th...

When you are not doing anything, you might be doing nothing....

Not much going on today.  Watched Ax Men. It is a good show, but all the loggers in the NW are over produced.  The Swamp Man is the best out of all the guys, he is the most real.  Good ole southern boy.

That is it. Like is said, nothing much going on.

Oh yeah, in case you missed the Heels Klimpsun game yesterday. This is impressive.  GO HEELS!!

When you love money, it will love you back.

Some people view me as resourceful and frugal, while others might view me as "tight" or "over-the-top".  My saving and spending habits are habitual (Bushism).  There are small steps that ensure every little penny will be saved.  Example; shutting off the pilot light to the furnace in the summer time.  I am sure I saved atleast fifty dollars.  Yes, it is a little aggravating when the outside temp is 35 degrees and the heater is blowing 55 degree air in the house because you forgot to turn the pilot light back on, but it took Sara four nights to realize something was wrong, well worth the money saved.  Example 2; saving salsa jars, mayo jars, cheese dip jars, etc.  Those things come in handy when you need something to put nails or screws in, or change.

Those are a couple of small steps I take to save a little money.  If there are any mommas reading this, then thank Sara for the next little bit of info.  AmazonMom.com!!!! We have bought a ton of stuff from there and it has been a  life saver.  Sara bough 84 diapers for a little more than 3 DOLLARS.  That was with a coupon, which she gets one about every week.  It also offers free two day shipping if you spend a certain amount ever month.  Amazon is you friend.  We have yet to have any problem with Amazon and we have saved a lot of money!

Well I hope this helps someone.  A few more little tips that might just save you a penny or two.  Do not let your gas tank get less than half, you get better fuel mileage on the first half.  Plus you might get stuck in traffic at the most inopportune time, and you will run out.  Use candles at night instead of lights, you dont need much light to walk around or watch TV, light one up, it will give you plenty of light.............. Still working on this one with Sara.

I hope I have enlightened your lives today.  Remember, "You only have as much money as you don't spend".

I am gonna write a book about this stuff

So alot has happened since the last post.  I really wish I could write a book about this stuff.  Let's see where to start.  We were relaxing and sitting here listening to some classical music, Audrey and me, Sara was napping in the bed.  A well deserved nap.  A few hours went by, during that time Sara awoke and we were all assembled in the family room.  The septic tank inspectors were supposed to be here around 2 pm, but they were running late.  Nothing is actually wrong with the septic tank, we just wanted to get it looked at, since we did not know the history of the house.  So they finally showed up around 530.   They found the tank and opened it up, everything was was great.  There was plenty of water and no need for pumping.

Immmmmmmm Baaaaaack

I took a little hiatus.  Everything is going well.  Audrey is beautiful and Sara is too.  Mama and Mimi just left this afternoon.  They were a huge help and we ate great!  Audrey has been a wonderful baby so far.  She has been sleeping a good bit.  Even at night we are able to get anywhere from 2.5 to 3 hours of solid sleep.   So we are actually only getting up three times a night.  I hope this stays!  The people who say that babies poop doe not smell until they eat solid foods are fibbers and they are in denial.  Cause Audrey's poop is smelly.  Speaking about poop.  She can flat out make a Congress sized mess in her pants, and about the time you drop the draws and start wiping the rear, she has an evacuation like the Berlin wall just fell again.  Just to let all know who might be wondering, its orange poop.  which is good poop, that means she is getting the good rich milk from the boob.

One week!

Audrey is 1 week old today!  Hard to believe it has been one week already!  She has been so wonderful and so much fun to be with.  I don't know how I'll leave her to go back to work.  Fortunately, that won't be for 3 months so I'll just not think about it for now!  We are starting to get in sync with her a little bit more and taking advantage of her awake times.  Being a mommy has been the most amazing thing... I think this is what I've been waiting for.
Here are 2 pictures of her to show how big she is now that she is 1 week ;)

Who's house? Heeeeels house? and some pictures of Audrey

GO HEELS.. Duck Fook.

Here are some new pictures of baby girl Audrey.  Audrey has been getting more interactive.  But as of now, she is still a sleeping eating poopin little girl.  I can not do much more than what I have done with photos.  Enjoy what we get now, when she livens up and can play in the back yard bet your bo diddly arse I will have some good stuff then.

A Tar Heel diddy for dook.

New Jersey State University at dook, you like to play basketball.  You have the ugliest starting five in the country, it looks like the Garbage Pale kids came to life.  Nolan Smith will end up with the wack pack on Howard Stern, his twin Beetlejuice standing by to help learn.

When not knowing what to write......

"There is a haze that aspirin will not erase.  One eye lies lower than the other, both at a low hover.  Blinks become slower to fall and rise.  Yet there is a minute to lie, the next will be used up for a cry.  Sleep is found every night but used only to a slight.  When morning comes a knocking she'll be up, a new day to not sleep tight."

Audrey had her first Dr visit today. She did very well and the Doc said she looked fine.  She gained five ounces since Feb 5.  She is an eating machine, which makes her a pooping machine too.  Stoney is being a very good big brother.  He has been very easy around Audrey.  I can not wait until she is old enough to interact with him.
Sara and I are doing well.  We are trying to get sleep, and we do in spurts.  Audrey has been pretty good about giving us some rest time, except when she is hungry.

Let us know if anyone wants to come by.  We are here all day!  Our door is open.

Well until tomorrow, good night.

I will have some more pictures up as they become available.

Friends are like peeing in the pool.....

The friends of your immediate friends, which you do not consider friends, are still considered your friends when you associate with them.  Hmmm...... Do you not quite understand?  Well, if not, then I will explain it to you.  Good Example:  you are in a pool with 100 other people.  ONE person pees in the pool, so just by association you are now swimming in a pee-pool.

My super bowl holds half a box of Fruity Pebbles

So, it was an uneventful day today.  Audrey slept alot and pooped more.  We got some relaxing done, and got settled in more.

Super Bowl Sunday and a musing on snooty British

Pulling for the Steelers tonight.  Greg Warren's my boy, so gotta root for the Steelers.

Babies don't smell as bad when they're yours!!

Well the first night at home with Audrey was grand.  We woke up and  fed every four hours.  Amazingly, Audrey slept atleast three and a half hours all night long.  We know that will probably change once she starts hitting some growth spurts, but we are going to enjoy it until then!!  Audrey has taken well to the new surroundings.  Her and Stoney have met a few times.  Stoney gets very curious when we are changing her and she is crying.  He seems to know that she is fragile and he is very easy around her.  Brutus and Missy are typical cats, they just want to get in her room because they are not allowed but we are in there.  Brutus thinks Audrey's toys are fun.

We made it home!!

Audrey has landed...  We are at home and mostly unpacked.  Sara is relaxing and Audrey is sleeping.  She was awesome in the care on the way home, not even a peep.
When we got home, she met brother Stoney and Brutus.  Missy has not come out to be social yet.  We all are getting settled in.  Now that we are home, I hope to get a few more videos as well as pictures.  I will probably be a little behind for a couple of days.  But I will keep it updated.

You can't get lost if you know where you are going....

On the way HOME!!!  After a GREAT lunch from the Morrison Cafeteria crew, especially Chef Anthony Wells, THANK YOU!!  Thank you Riley also!

Well, we will see everyone at the house.  Please come by if you like, our door is open!

 Paul Sara and Audrey

Home is whenever I am with you!

So we got the word, we are going HOME!  I am not sure when we will be leaving but we are leaving non the same.  Audrey will finally get to meet big brother Brutus and Stoney and big sister Missy!  Yay!

Everyone feel free to drop on in, our door is open.

DO NOT COME IF YOU ARE SICK!!!!!

Thanks.

A couple videos.....

Here are a couple of videos....

Are we there yet?

Maybe, maybe not.  It depends on what Doc Norman says.  There is a chance we might be going home today!!  We are not sure yet and Sara does not want to get her hopes up, but it is a possibility.

Thoughts from thinking about thoughts !?!?

So Larry Drew II quit the Tar Heel basketball team today.  All I have to say about that is, TJ Yates, you just inked your name as a great leader in Tar Heel athletics.

Ready to go HOME!

The third night is coming to a close.  We are all ready to go home!  We miss Stoney and our cats and our bed.  We are ready for Audrey to see her new home and room!

Some professional pictures

These were taken by Bella Baby at the hospital.  You can go to their site and look at the slide show of photos they made.  Very good photography.

Nice to be famous.

Well momma and Audrey are great.  Sara was able to get disconnected from all the government wiretaps they had on her.  I just hope they didnt get all our secrets, I took anti spy measures before we came in, but I forgot the tinfoil hat.  Its the most important thing to.  I hope they dont find all my saved jars.  She got to shower and even put on some make up and did her hair!  We should be coming home Sunday.  If anyone wants to visit us in the hospital we are at University in Room 323.  You are more than welcome to come by the house as well.
IF YOU ARE SICK OR AROUND SOMEONE WHO IS SICK .................
DO NOT COME SEE US UNTIL YOU ARE NOT SICK!!!!!  My attack lab (Stoney) will not let you in, he is trained in the art of identifying sick people.

Some more pictures.  I will get some more videos after we get home.  No much going on here but breast feeding and sleeping.  Sara will not let me post and feeding pictures.  I dont know why, I mean its all about Audrey now not us.

There will be more pictures in the "Audrey" tab than the post after we get home too.  But you can always click on the pictures at the bottom of the blog and go directly to out public Picasa site.

Enjoy,

 Paul

Good moonin Good moonin....

Thats what Sara "signed" to me this morning as she got out of the bed, in her hospital gown, for the first time since the birth of Audrey.  Heeeeeeyyyyyyo.
Sara slept some last night, they were in and out ever few hours checking on her.  Audrey was in about every four hours to feed, and she did great.  You know people say that Audrey looks like Sara, thats cool with me, because she eats like her diddy and is quiet just like me also.  Finally someone else that doesnt talk all the time, hmpf.  Everyone did great last night.  Audrey still had some fluid in her stomach, they were able to flush that out.  Sara will be unhooked from all the machines today and she will be able to eat real food at some point.  I got to sleep through the whole night!!  But that was in preparation for the next few months plus.  And tonight I will be in charge, and matter of the fact I will be in charge for night time duty for a while.  I operate better with no sleep than Sara.  I need her to recover good.
I have Audrey in my arms as I type.  she is precious!
 cant wait tio see everyone!

Sara sitting up for the first time.

Audrey's New video release

Here is a video of Audrey.  Enjoy.
Tis my bed time, or atleast the time I will attempt to lie down and sleep.  It will probably be a bunch of flipping and flopping and turning.  Yet again Sara gets the good drugs so she will sleep awesome.  But she did do a little more work than me today!! haha

Quote to put the chullins to bed with.   "When you are going in the wrong direction and don't know it, you will probably never know when to turn around."

 Paul, out

Attention !! Attention !!

So Audrey is here!!!!  She is beautiful.  So far she has been an outstanding baby, minimal crying.  Burping good, breast feeding good, pooping and peepee is good.  Momma is doing great as well.  C section is not painful right now so let's hope that stays good.
Please come see us everyone! We are in Room 323 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA.
Most of the pictures are online and in the slideshow on the blog.  if you click on the pictures at the bottom of the blog page you will be taken directly to the online site with all the pictures.

Audrey Jillian Roberts
    born Feb 3 2011 at 2:49
    6lbs 6oz
    18 1/2 inches
Sara had a C section and it went good.  Audrey is beautiful.  I will have some pictures up later tonight.  We are getting settled in right now, and I am howngry!  So after we get to know Audrey a little better I will have some photos up.  Thank you all for following the blog and being great friends.  continue to pass the blog address around and everyone subscribe to receive email alerts of blog posts.

Sara is doing great.  She sends her love to everyone and says hello.  Also thank you for all the support.

We are at University Hospital in Augusta, GA, Room 323!

Just saw this and had to repost

The word moron, imbecile and idiot are not interchangeable.  The one with the highest level of intelligence is a moron, followed, by an imbecile and then an idiot.  haha thats pretty funny and a true mathematical marvel.  Anyone take Symbolic Logic at UNC???? I did, twice, so I know how it all equals out.

Paul

And we have contractions...... heeeeyo

Sara is having contractions, nothing major, her water is still intact or full or unruptured (whatever ye old medical term would be).  She is in a little discomfort and hungry.  I have been talking about food too much apparently.  We are now in a waiting time period.  Well atleast the fire profession has trained me for this moment, HURRY UP....... and WAIT!!
So for breakfast I am eating a cold chik fila sammich, some coke and some vitamin water.  Sara is eating ice.  I should probably be on her meal plan while here.  We have a grand surprise today, a brand new nurse student in clinicals, and its a BOY.  The nurse not the baby.  Haha, got ya.

Paul "not doing anything wrong and not the one to blame for all her misery, yet", signing off

Good Morning and hello kitty........

Uneventful night.  I have slept on rocks softer and more comfortable than this thing.  Sara got some meds to help her sleep, besides having to pee every 27 minutes, she got a little sleep.  She snored like a grown gorilla though.
They just started the pitocin.  From what I have heard, thats like telling 42 NASCAR drivers to start their engines.    She is still only fingertip dilated, no progress so far.
No new pictures as of now, nothing has really changed since the ones i posted last night.  Sara is still in a hospital gown, hair is in remarkable shape and she is just lying in bed.  She is a little nervous now, I suppose she has heard some bad stories about pitocin.  I would not expect too many pictures until after the baby is born, but I will update as much as possible.

On the menu for breakfast will be chik fil a, cheetos, gold fish, and maybe something from the cafeteria if i go down there.  Just not sure I want to test the food market not knowing how sensitive my vomit trip wire is..

A good morning to live your life by------ "Its hard trying without knowing, but it is harder knowing without knowing."

Goodnight

Well the night has come to a near end.  Sara is about asleep, I hope.  I have been watching Defiance, a three and a half start movie about a five star story.  That Netflix subscription is coming in handy for sure now.  Atleast when Audrey will not let me sleep in the next few months, I can have something to to help pass the time.

  until the morning, good night.

Paul

Well, I think I know why obesity is taking over..........

The food is kinda good and cheap, plus its all fried or burgered.  Chik Fil A downstairs and a grill attatched to it.  Fatboy food all over the place.  Sara had a turkey ranch panini and some cookies and cream ice cream.  I had Chik Fil A, some vanilla ice cream, fries and a salad.  Got some coffee now.

You would have thought that since we had over a week to plan for this we would have thought about everything.  Well, I did not.  Minimal things, like my french press to-go mug for my loose-leaf Persian tea and a cooler for drinks.  So far this is like a neat vacation, one in which we can not leave the room.  Maybe a little like being on the beach, atleast when I close my eyes, there just so happens to be a little whale in the room... haha.  Just Kidding!!
If anyone has any thoughts or things they would like to see or hear, let me know.  I got all the time in the world.  Oh yeah, there were a TON of Gypsies in the waiting room.  It was like prom night with all the big hair, or actually its kinda like the cast of Hairspray is here.  For those who do not know, the North Augusta area has alot of gypsies.
"Looking at the sun is as fun as touching the red coil on a stove."

At the hospital and an opening video.

So we are in the hospital. Room 316. Everything is going good so far. Sara is hooked up to the machines and we are answering questions right now. I will try to update about every couple hours. Our nurse is Gail and she seems to know what she is doing. Because of all the hospital visits I had as a child, especially at Myrtle Beach, qualify me to make the assumption that someone knows what they are doing in the medical field, plus I am married to a Physical Therapist. Anyway, our room is large and spacious with a less than desirable boob toob. We do have a window, it faces North Northwest- ish. Sara was a little nervous and anxious upon arriving, but with my southern charm and suave wordage, I was able to calm her. Keep on comin on and there will be plenty more. I will probably atleast get bored and be on here all night. I can already tell I will not be getting much sleep. Fairly anxious and exciting myself.

Welp I'm gonna go grab me some Chik Fil A.

You can post comments on the blog posts, there is a "Comment" clicker at the bottom. Feel free to comment.

Also, at the bottom of the blog there are two lines of pictures. if you click on those pictures, you will be able to see every picture I take.

Enjoy.

Thought for the early night: "it takes a split second to make a decision, but a whole life to live with it."

Here is the opening video!! (sorry for the delay, still learning all this stuff, had to repost to get video to work)

Paul

Almost go time!!

Stoney is about to head to camp for a few days.  Talking about someone who is gonna be worn out.
Sara took her last belly pic, or the PC word is BUMP I suppose.  Even though its more like a mountain peak.  These will not be the last pictures tonight, but these will be the last official bump pics.  Keep up with me tonight now.  It is going to be awesome.

I plan on having some video and pictures and maybe some quotes.  It all depends on how Sara feels and how much time I have.

Hooray. Little Audrey will be here soon!!

So if anyone is thinking about buying us anything for the baby, get some Boudreaux's Butt Paste.  That stuff works on people besides babies as well.  I need my own, Sara said I can share with Audrey.

"When the light gets too bright, you have slept too long"

Half the day down

French toast for Sara..done. Cleaning.... almost done.  Play with Stoney.... done. We are getting ready.  not nervous yet.

HEELS getting some good recruits.  Been a while since Tar Heel football was on the national scene.  Audrey will definitely be making it to the Hill for a game this year.

Viewing Pictures

To view pictures, scroll down to the bottom of the page.  Right after the awesome random facts, there are two lines of photos.  If you click on those photos, you will be taken to an album where you can see all the pictures.  Enjoy, share and keep on keepin on.

Groundhog Day Decisions !

Thought for the day:  "The more you think about one thing, the more you forget about multiple things."

So today is Groundhog Day.  I sure hope I don't have a Bill Murray day, considering Audrey is supposed to be here tomorrow.  My prediction, is not a prediction of what Phil will predict, but what I predict.  We will have a normal spring, with normal temperatures.  There will be one cold spell around Easter, either the week before, the weeks of or the week after.  Anyone ever thought of how funny it would be if old Phil just reached up and took a chunk out of the mans ear?  Purdy doggone funny I bet.

There is a greater importance of this day in relation to Groundhog Day, and that is College Football National Signing Day.  Tar Heels are looking to maintain a top 15 recruiting class this year.  Hopefully there will be some surprises.  Lil Carolina is probably going to get the most coveted recruit the state of South Carolina has ever produced in Jadeveon Clowney.  Clemson has put together a stout recruiting class with tons of talent.  GO HEELS!!!

So to the main story for the day.  Sara and I will be going to the hospital to prepare for the birth of Audrey Jillian.  Oh, by the way, Jillian is pronounced Jil-li-an.... not Jilyen, as I have been corrected numerous times by my wife.  I told her there were just too many vowels too close together for my southern drawl to incorporate.  As stated before, my plan is to keep the updates rolling in, along with pictures.  We expect Audrey will be here sometime tomorrow, but my prediction skills are only guesses.  I will produce as many pictures as possible with the occasional video.  Because the Faceplace is so aggravating to post pictures on, the blog will contain the majority of pictures.  So all of our friends, pass the world along to keep checking in with the blog and subscribe for email updates.

Some new stuff with the blog.  I am learning my way around the blog world, and its fascinating.  So it is still in construction phase.  I am trying to make it a place that anyone can come and find just about anything. Is that statement vague enough?  I have the money saving tab up and running, look for it to grow.  I expect my wife to be involved more in the couponing and money saving information after her recovery.  The Amazon links show their best deals in a variety of departments and their deal of the day.

Well get ready for a smorgasbord of birthing information and pictures, don't worry there will not be any gross stuff.  I can not handle it!  Thanks for following us.  Now let's get it on.  Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyo!

Early Tax Season

Got the taxes done today.  We owe a little money, thats no problem though, got to use some government money interest free.  If you are getting huge refunds back, you are letting the government use YOUR money interest FREE!!
Start spreading the word about the blog, this is going to be the main hub for Audrey updates and pictures!!  We go in tomorrow night, so the pictures of Sara will begin pouring in after we get settled.  I am going to make this as documented as Watergate and as real time as a live episode of The Bachelor.  I am sure there will be just as much hollering and screaming and cussing and ladies akin da fool as The Bachelor anyway.... So tune in and get your reality show fix with the Robert's starring in, The Birth Night.

A thought for Tuesday

When you can't figure out something to say, maybe you should not have thought..
